Arguments are often seen in applications that have formulas or functions. The argument is used to hold a specific value. For example, you see one or more arguments in many Excel functions. Some may be optional, and others required. While the user can type these directly in the formula bar, they can also use the Function argument dialog box with designated fields for the arguments.
