SUM function

This is an Excel function that adds numbers. You may either add cell references , separated by commas, use a cell range or combination. The function requires one value, but you may add or subtract additional ones. You may either type directly in the formula bar using =SUM, or use the Function Arguments dialog.

In the example below, I’m summing a column range (D2:D53) and then removing one cell reference (D10). Notice the minus sign in front of the cell reference.
