| Saving Microsoft Outlook Searches |

Recently, we wrote an article about Outlook 2003 Search Folders. In that article, we mentioned
we disliked earlier Outlook versions because we couldn't save our searches. Technically, that was
a true statement. I never said Outlook couldn't save the search. All this boils down to being
wrong and learning something new about previous versions of Outlook. (Includes 4 minute flash tutorial.)
This revelation came about from an email I got from a reader named Victoria. She kindly pointed out that she saves searches all the time. She didn't say how, but merely that she did. I opened Outlook 2002 to see if I could figure out how. As before, I stared at the dialog and again wondered how. My problem was I expected to save a search using a button from the right side. Since I didn't see a Save button, I figured the task couldn't be done. Pfftit can be done. The key is not to look for a button, but to use the File menu. I have no idea how many searches I've done from this dialog. Many were one-time searches, but some I would like to have saved. In the future, I'll remember this little lesson. Again, thanks Victoria.
