Previously, I would set up Microsoft Outlook to display another time zone on my calendar. This works well except you always need the Outlook calendar open. That seems like overkill, which is why I prefer to use this Vista improvement.

To set more time zones in Windows Vista,

1. Right-click the computer time in the Notification area of your taskbar.

2. Select Adjust Date/Time from the menu

3. Click the Additional Clocks tab.

4. Check the box labeled Show this clock.

5. Select your new time zone from the drop down list.

6. Type a label in the Enter display name text box field.

7. Add another time zone if needed.

8. Click OK.

Now, when you place your mouse over the computer time in the taskbar, you’ll see your other time zones.

Or, if you prefer seeing a calendar with the different time zones, you can click the time. Your default time appears as the larger clock.

This time zone enhancement also covers irregular time zones such as those where there is an offset for hours and minutes. A good example is New Delhi, which is GMT+ 5 ½ hours.
