Email

Email is one of the most widely used applications for personal and business use. Think what your life would be without email. Certainly, it has made our lives easier, but it has also complicated things with the advent of spam, viruses, trojans and so on.

To make things easier, we've created categories for popular email applications. We also have a "general" category for items that cover multiple applications.

General

This section includes stories on email in general. It will include topics ranging from web mail to utilities. And of course, the occasional spam updates.
Outlook
This section will include articles on using Microsoft Outlook. In addition to email articles, we will also include Outlook's other components such as calendar, tasks, notes and so on.

Outlook has captured much of the corporate market with many companies relying on its features. In addition, there are many individuals who use Outlook at home. However, there are differences between the versions. Some products or services we review may only work on one of the configurations.

A business or enterprise user tends to use Outlook with a Microsoft Exchange Server. Their version displays (CW) when they go to the Help|About menu. In contrast, most home users don't use an exchange server, but their ISP's mail servers. This version is known as (IMO) for Internet Mail Only. The main difference is the CW version allows for more integration of information between users such as shared calendars and folders.
Outlook Express
This section is for articles on Outlook Exress. While the name is similar to another Microsoft program, the features are very different.

Even if you don't use Microsoft Express as your primary email client, you may need to update the program for security reasons as other programs rely upon its features such as Internet Explorer.
